MALORA HUGGINS
Malora Huggins is the music teacher at Holy Redeemer Catholic Grade School. In 2008, she graduated from the University of Evansville with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, where she studied piano with Anne Fiedler. She recently completed her Masters of Music Education degree with Boston University in May of 2016. Malora works with several instrumental and vocal ensembles in the tri-state area. She began playing piano at age five, and her favorite pianist is Anthony Burger- the former pianist for the Gaither's. Some of her awards include: Presser Scholar and Who’s Who Among Music Educators. She has played piano for several musicals beginning at age 14. In 2008, she began directing the Jr. High plays, elementary Christmas musicals, and Jr. High musicals for Holy Redeemer.
Some of her hobbies and interests include: golfing, fishing, and spending time with family.
Her favorite quote is: “Where words fail, music speaks”. The importance of this quote by Hans Christian Andersen is inspired by her great-grandmother, who during her last days could not speak, instead she found ways to express her emotions through music.

Click here for a song that inspired her to become a music teacher. It is written by Anthony Burger. She heard him perform this piece as an eighth grader after listening to his story about becoming a pianist. I love retelling his story, and my reason for becoming a teacher. I hope you enjoy this piece as much as she does!!
