We also equip our classrooms with interactive smart boards to help teachers bring the internet world to the students in an educational way. Students visit the computer lab 2-3 times a week. Students also use Google Classroom.
Fine Arts:
The Fine Arts are recognized as an important part of an education, therefore providing full-time teachers in both music and art. We also continue to place an emphasis on fine arts by equipping the classrooms with exciting tools for learning such as the pottery wheel with kiln. Twice a year the students have a Fine Arts Program that include a musical or play, art display, and musical performances. The Mater Dei High School Band instruction is provided for grades 5th-8th.
Religious Education
A Catholic Education is provided in all grades including pre-school and pre-k. This includes Sacramental preparations in second grade for First Eucharist and First Reconciliation.Grades 5th and 8th are assessed through the ACRE standardized testing released by the NCEA. We participate in Mass weekly as well as Individual Reconciliation on a regular basis. We encourage service projects in the community that are chosen by each class to carryout through the year. (i.e. birthright, veterans, nursing homes, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, food pantries, Riley's Hospital, etc...)
Physical Education:
Physical Education is brought to the forefront for a healthy living lifestyle, providing students with a full-time PE teacher who educates about their physical health, and provides daily opportunities to get up and move their bodies. All classroom incorporate their classes with cross-circular movements that stimulate the brain. Minds in Motion is a daily program provided for grades K-2nd.
